MY YEAR OF WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

2019…...How I wish we could have you back. 2019 was an awesome year for my wedding photography. I travelled to many beautiful, new places. 

Of course, I still shot a few weddings in my hometown of Barnsley. But last year, I branched out even further than the borders of Yorkshire. 

My Year started in my beloved Barnsley. I had a couple of weddings, back to back early on in the year (which was odd for me). Brooklands Holiday Inn holds some personal memories for me, as my wife and I had our evening party there. I always enjoy going back and last year was no different.

Photography then took me to the magnificent city of York. To a venue I'd never shot at before, the Merchant Taylors Hall. Such a beautiful wedding venue in the centre of York.

March took me up to one of my most special places in England, the Lake District. More specifically, Barrow-in-Furness. Id never been to Barrow, let alone photographed a wedding up there. The Abbey House, is such a spectacular venue. Beautiful gardens and a modern décor throughout. Its just a shame that it Rained all weekend and we only managed a couple of photos outside. 

Back to the Holiday inn Barnsley for one, then off over the Pennines to Saddleworth Manor. Another first for me and yet another stunning wedding venue. Set on the tops of Saddleworth moor, It has amazing gardens and one of the most stunning main halls I've ever seen. But with another wash out weekend, all our shots had to be taken indoors.

That was my final wedding before our annual family holiday and boy was it needed this year. 2019 was turning out to be my busiest year yet.

So, after a couple of weeks away, I came back well rested and ready to take on Wedding season.

Luckily enough, I had a few more local weddings to photograph during June and July. A couple of weddings at Barnsley Town Hall mixed with a couple in the center of Sheffield got me back into the swing of things. Visiting Sheffield did give me the opportunity to photograph a wedding at the Millennium Gallery. I'd never shot there before, but it quickly turned into my favourite event hall. Such a bright and vibrant wedding venue and cant wait to go back.

During the next couple of months, I'd end up visiting Harrogate 3 times for weddings. Two of those would be for Mother and Daughter weddings. Before those I'd be official photographer at the Old Swan Hotel in the Center of Harrogate.  

Back to a few more local wedding venues, Firstly with a visit to Whitley Hall. I've shot many weddings at Whitley Hall and know just how beautiful it is. A beautiful sunny day was welcomed and we made full use of the beautiful gardens and massive lawn area.

Not far from Whitley was my next wedding, over at Wortley Hall. Another wedding venue that I have been the official photographer. A totally different venue to Whitley hall, Wortley has a massive garden to the rear, as well as pond within the grounds. 

My next wedding was up at Wetherby and the well known Wood Hall Hotel. Another first time here as a wedding photographer and another beautiful summers day. 

For the last couple of months of the year I was taken over the whole of Yorkshire and beyond. 2 Weddings for mother and daughter in Harrogate, a wedding in Sheffield and one in Kidderminster.

To finish the Year off I had a Tee Pee wedding at Oaktree Farm weddings, One at The Kings Croft Hotel and a wedding at Hazel Gap Barn at Budby.

All in all, I'd had a successful year. Stressful, but successful. 29 weddings all in all and I'd covered most of Yorkshire as well as a few more than usual in my hometown of Barnsley. This is why I love wedding photography so much. Its the people, the places and the different friends I make. 

This year is already a lot less stressful when it comes to my photography, but when this pandemic passes, I hope you will all think of me when it comes to booking your wedding photographer.
